When I first got into data analytics, I assumed it would be mostly working with SQL and dashboards. I didn’t expect to spend just as much time explaining what my job wasn’t.
Apparently, if you work with data, you must:
Know how to code like a developer.
Be a math genius.
Predict the future.
Build machine learning models in your sleep.
None of that is true. But these assumptions keep showing up, on job descriptions, in interviews, and even in casual conversations.
So let’s clear the air.
